Discover the joy of
Reading with
your little ones

Oxford Reading Tree (ORT) is a globally loved, long-running English reading programme used in more than 18,000 primary schools in the UK and enjoyed by children in over 130 countries.

Why has ORT remained so popular for more than 40 years?

Although the stories are set in the UK, their play, humour, friendships, family relationships and everyday experiences are familiar to children across countries and cultures.

Stages 1–4 help children acquire English naturally through friendly, enjoyable stories close to everyday life. From Stage 5, the signature Magic Key adventures begin in earnest, inspiring imagination and curiosity through exciting stories.

Stages 10–12 feature adventures based on real historical events and places. They develop reading and writing skills while connecting naturally with the wider school curriculum.
